How do I prepare my iPad for sale?

The first step is to visit our website and get an instant quote for your device. We’ll need to know your model, GB, and network provider in order to provide you with a quote. You can then choose to trade in your iPad for cash or a voucher. Using the voucher option gives you an added incentive due to it’s slightly larger valuation, this is a great option if you are planning to upgrade to a new tablet or looking at other devices we sell such as iPhones, Apple Watches and Macs. Important trade in steps
There are a few very important steps you need to follow before you sell your old iPad and send it off; but it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3… GO!
1. Backing up your iPad
Firstly, you will need to back up your iPad to save all your data. All those photos, messages and apps etc can all be switched from one device to another without hassle. You can then set up your new refurbished iPad (if applicable) by restoring from your latest backup. This can be done via iCloud or remotely to a computer with iTunes. It is definitely worth double-checking everything has been transferred before proceeding to the next step. To check your device is backed up go into your settings and find the backup information. You can run a manual backup or use the automatic backup feature.
2. Removing the iCloud account
This is a step that is often overlooked by a lot of people. Before wiping your device, you will need to manually sign out of your Apple account. Ensure your device is connected to WiFi or data. Go into the settings app, and your first tab should be your iCloud account. Click the red sign out button and enter your Apple ID account password.This is important as it ensures nothing is left on the device when the new owner receives it.
3. Erase all contents and settings
Lastly, you will need to reset your device back to factory settings. A lot of companies will offer to do this for you for your ease. The truth is, it is quick and easy and leaves nothing to chance. Go into the settings tab, then the general tab, scroll down to the second to last option and click reset. Follow this up by clicking ‘Reset all contents and settings’, then you are done!
